
The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Design, Library Media Services in partnership with the Hawaii Association of School Librarians (HASL) will host a two-day statewide school library conference on Thursday, August 6, 2026 and Friday, August 7, 2026 from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Prince Waikiki Hotel.
The conference is open to Hawaiʻi Department of Education (HIDOE) school library staff, teachers, administrators and Hawaii Association of School Librarian members.
Non-HIDOE library staff are invited to attend for a fee.
The purpose of the conference is to equip school librarians and staff with skills and knowledge to provide effective and engaging literacy supports, library programs and resources. Participants will develop their personal learning networks by sharing stories, experiences and questions to learn from each other.School library professional development is aligned to the American Association for School Librarians (AASL) 2017 National School Library Standards and Future Ready Librarians Framework.
