About me
Amanda Kordeliski is the current president for the American Association of School Librarians and works as the Director of Libraries and Instructional Technology for Norman Public Schools. She has held a variety of leadership positions within the Oklahoma Library Association and Oklahoma School Libraries division. She is an active member of ALA PolicyCorps and the Unite Against Book Bans Cadre where she advocates for libraries at the state and national levels. Kordeliski previously served on the AASL board as a Director-at-Large and served on the Michael L Printz 2023 Award committee for YALSA. Amanda is a recipient of the Oklahoma School Librarians Technology in Education Award and the Polly Clarke Most Outstanding School Librarian Award. She participated in the National History Day Understanding Sacrifice: War in Northern Europe and Understanding Sacrifice: War in the Mediterranean teacher scholar cohorts and created award winning lesson plans connected to World War II. In 2018 she was invited to participate in the WWI Centennial Commission Memorializing the Fallen program where she created World War I lesson plans. She was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2025 for her school library advocacy work and was recognized by the Oklahoma Education Association as the winner of the Kate Frank Award for Human and Civil Rights for her work and passion in providing high quality, accurate representation of Indigenous peoples. She has presented on history, technology, librarianship and library advocacy nationally at ALA Annual and AASL and at many state and regional conferences. Ms. Kordeliski has published articles in Knowledge Quest and YALS. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Oklahoma and was named the School of Library and Information Studies Outstanding Alumni in 2022.
